Personality:
Flavor Abilities: Baelfire is human through and though, and will not be bringing any magical abilities with him to Snowblind.
Suitability: Baelfire is a bit of a wanderer, tossed between worlds as he is separated from his father. At his canon point, he has been subjected to live on the island of Neverland, a place where kids do not grow old, but always feel a sort of emptiness and darkness that they cannot control. They cannot escape Neverland, so coming to Snowblind will not be shocking, but perhaps a welcome change. He is extremely light hearted and willing to help, and will try to build a team or find fast friends. He does not like leaving anyone behind. He has some survival skills, from living on the island by himself, though he is unaccustomed to colder climates, Neverland being jungle, and will work to help others stay warm, as he can build a fire, make very simple animal traps, things one would need to know to stay alive.

Personality:
Baelfire is nothing but energy and spirit. Much of his life he's been met with great adversity and, despite the darkness that seems to follow him at every turn, he has an unflappable optimism. Although he is only a boy, he also displays signs of great maturity, having undergone great emotional strife and pain, and yet still comes out with a hopeful outlook on his life, always looking toward the next step, never looking back.
Very early on, Baelfire demonstrates an innate sense of bravery and justice. Although his father is considered the town coward, he stands up to soldiers and villagers when they mistreat Rumple. In fact, he is even willing to go fight in the war like the other children of the village. He does not approve of anyone harming others, and prefers an option of peace rather than fighting. He chooses to help his father in pursuit of power, if only because his father promises to do good with it. Perhaps Baelfire is naive in his loyalty and belief, but he commits to it all the same, putting all of his energy into it, waiting for the positive outcome.
Baelfire, while driven, is also loyal to a fault. Rumplestiltskin proves repeatedly that he may not keep his promises to his son, and yet Bae believes him until the very last moment. When Baelfire finds someone he cares for, he instills a part of his heart to them, trusting them completely, without reserve. He is able to see past the negative in others around them and find the last remaining light in them, placing all of his hope and trust in that alone. This steadfast loyalty however, is what ultimately burns him. He is capable of giving second chances, but in many ways, unable to comprehend it when others go back on their word. His trust can be pushed far, yet it does have a breaking point.
When he's pushed too far, the passionate loyalty he exhibits instead turns to anger. He is difficult to anger, but he cannot fathom unfairness and dishonesty. The more his father lies to him, the more Baelfire's trust in Rumple wanes. Much like when Hook reveals he knew Bae's mother, and he was after his father, Baelfire immediately turns to anger, retaliates at the man for lying.
He has a keen sense of justice, and is always looking to do the right thing first, rather than choose the easier path. He is incredibly selfless. Second chances, loyalty and determination aside, he pracitically sacrifices himself for the Darling children. Peter Pan's shadow visits their window every night, and when the youngest Darling boy is faced with the shadow, Baelfire offers himself instead. Wendy explained that Neverland was a dismal, dark place and yet, in order to spare an innocent boy, he chooses to go himself, and allows the shadow to take him to Neverland, displacing him from his "family" yet again. He is extremely brave, willing to throw himself into new worlds and a new life without a second thought, if only it will help someone else, be it his father or one of the Darling children.
Although for minor indiscretions, Baelfire may forgive easily, he is every bit a boy when he has been hurt deeply. After the anger, when he feels as though he cannot trust someone any longer, cannot rely on their friendship or love, Baelfire becomes distant, reserved. Although he does love his father, Baelfire (particularly when he's grown) speaks of his father with sadness and bitterness, wary of letting him close again. He does value those whom he is close to dearly, but once hurt too deeply, he begins to shy away, to protect himself.
When Baelfire is dropped into London, he is immediately thrown into a world without magic and must adapt to a new world, a new way of speaking, a new way of thinking. And yet, Baelfire succeeds with flying colors -- he does not believe in stealing, does not believe in harming others, but he steals bread in order to survive. Bae has a level of boldness needed to stay alive, but is also still apologetic. He is very much a floundering boy here as well, stumbling through life in Victorian London, to the point where he actually apologizes for stealing a loaf of bread from the Darling family. It is this open apology, the genuineness that earns him a place in the Darling family home.
Despite Bae's difficulties with trust and loyalty, he is an extremely adventurous boy. He enjoys playing games, being among other children, and rough housing. When he is dropped in Neverland, a dark land without much hope or future for children like him, he is instead greeted by the Jolly Roger. He initially keeps a brave face in front of the Captain, stubborn and strong willed, unwilling to let anyone bully him into answers, but he submits for safety's sake. The Jolly Roger is where we see Baelfire flourish, outside of London and his hometown, he instead is taught how to sail and navigate, learning the ways of a pirate. He enjoys dancing around fires with the Lost Boys, play sword fighting on deck, and learning new skills. He is eager to learn as much about the world as he possibly can.
Much like London and Neverland, Baelfire is capable of adapting to the most adverse situations, and independently. He is forced away from the role of boy and instead into the role of an adult, concerned primarily with surviving. Although he befriends the Darlings and gains a friend-made family in their home, and perhaps even gains some camaraderie on the Jolly Roger before Hook's inevitable betrayal, Baelfire is forced to face the world alone. He believes in himself first and foremost, depending on his own skills and judgement to lead him home.

[ it doesn't take long for Baelfire to figure out the network, knowing that they are better off if they contact each other than if they keep quiet too long. he's as wary of this place as any, even after the short while he's been here, but the nights no doubt will only get colder and they'll have to start working together. ]
I think it may be a good idea if we gathered together for a meeting? I know it's a new place, and it's frightening, but maybe we can help each other?
[ after all, with the doors shut tight at night, they had to make sure everyone was accounted for. no one could get trapped outside -- it would be a death wish, and they didn't know what lurked out there. Baelfire may have experienced magic, may have had to face Lost Boys and Peter Pan, but if he didn't know what he was trying to fight in the darkness? he'd be useless. ]
Maybe gather a list of skills that everyone has. Everyone is good at something, and, well, I think anything can be helpful, even the smallest of things. We can use those skills to gather more food, save more water, maybe even make search teams for supplies? Anything, really. I can build fires, can make a basic map and.. and I know a bit about weaving. Skills like that, I suppose. What do you say?
